As a proud participant, Peirot Agronegócios joined regional farmers, vendors, and local leaders in a shared vision for the future of agriculture in Barra, Bahia and beyond. Over three vibrant days, from September 4th to 6th, the city came alive with innovation, collaboration, and community spirit — a powerful testament to what’s possible when we grow together.
Celebrating Agricultural Progress in the Heart of Bahia
Set in one of Brazil’s most promising agricultural regions, the Barra AgroShow brought together thousands of stakeholders from across the agri-sector — from smallholder farmers and equipment manufacturers to policy leaders and educators. The event served as a hub of knowledge sharing, showcasing innovations in drip irrigation, climate-resilient crops, mechanization, and organic farming practices.
For Peirot, the AgroShow was an opportunity to highlight our rapid progress over just two years — from planting our first cacao seedlings in a semi-arid environment, to building out advanced infrastructure for sustainable growth. Visitors to our booth explored how our data-driven irrigation systems and focus on community-led development are helping turn vision into reality.
Alongside our cacao crops, we showcased ongoing efforts in coconut cultivation and the integration of professional-grade mechanization — a core part of Peirot’s capability to scale with efficiency. Our agricultural supervisor, Daniel Borges, shared insights on how training and technology are empowering our team to meet rising demand while preserving soil health and optimizing labor.
Leadership in Action
Our leadership team was fully present throughout the event. On the final day, we were honored to welcome our CEO Ido Schechter, whose participation underscored Peirot’s long-term commitment to growth in the region.
“Events like the Barra AgroShow are where transformation begins,” Ido said during a live discussion. “We see firsthand how public-private collaboration, farmer leadership, and sustainability-focused innovation can align to strengthen rural economies.”
COO Tal Bar Dor and Director of Partnerships Gleise de Melo also represented Peirot on the main stage, participating in a high-level panel about the future of agriculture in semi-arid zones. Their insights reflected the importance of marrying operational precision with social impact and environmental stewardship.
Tal spoke about Peirot’s investment in automation, irrigation, and data systems that support both scalability and resilience. “We don’t just want to grow more — we want to grow smarter, with the land and the people in mind,” he emphasized.
Women Leading the Way in Agriculture
A standout moment from the AgroShow was the Mulheres no Agro (Women in Agriculture) event, where Gleise de Melo spoke powerfully about the role of women in driving sustainable change in agribusiness. From her leadership in cacao cultivation to her active work with local female farmer associations, Gleise has been a tireless advocate for equity in the field.
“When we invest in women, we invest in the entire ecosystem,” Gleise noted during her panel. “Our work at Peirot proves that sustainability and inclusion go hand-in-hand — and that the future of farming is collaborative.”
The Women in Agro space also generated follow-up projects with local associations such as the Pau D’Arco producer collective, which Gleise helped organize into strategic planning meetings post-event. As part of these efforts, she led a recent diagnostic meeting with the Associação de Produtoras do Pau D’Arco, aligning on clear timelines and goals for transforming their collective into a sustainable, revenue-generating enterprise.
Bridging Innovation and Tradition
The success of the AgroShow lies not just in what was presented, but in who showed up. Representatives from traditional farming families stood shoulder-to-shoulder with agri-tech startups. Government officials, like Mayor Romeu Júnior, took time to visit Peirot’s booth and reaffirm their support for initiatives that create jobs, boost local food security, and protect natural resources.
Peirot’s showcase featured live demonstrations of our smart irrigation system — a fully computer-controlled solution that delivers water only when and where it’s needed, reducing waste while maximizing yield. With water scarcity an ongoing concern in the region, our system drew interest from numerous farm operators looking to modernize.
Our collaboration with irrigation partner Netafim was also highlighted, with visuals of pipework and conduits on display, illustrating how we’re expanding infrastructure to reach more hectares with sustainable precision agriculture.
Strength in Community
Ultimately, the AgroShow reminded us that agriculture is not just about tools or crops — it’s about people. It’s about building a thriving regional ecosystem where farmers, entrepreneurs, local governments, and private sector leaders work together toward a shared future.
Community visits to Peirot’s farm during the show were another highlight. Farmers, students, municipal leaders, and even fellow exhibitors toured our facilities to see firsthand how we’ve brought semi-arid land to life. As one guest noted, “Seeing it in person changes everything — it’s real, it’s working, and it’s inspiring.”
We are especially grateful to the many partners and colleagues who visited us during the AgroShow — your support is a cornerstone of our progress.
Looking Ahead
Barra AgroShow 2025 wasn’t just an event on the calendar. It was a milestone for Peirot and a symbol of what’s possible when vision meets action. As we return to our daily work, the energy, partnerships, and ideas sparked over these three days will continue to guide us.
We’re excited for what’s ahead — for new planting cycles, expanded infrastructure, deeper partnerships, and most importantly, continued collaboration with the community that makes it all possible.
To everyone who made this year’s show such a success: thank you. And to all those we haven’t met yet — our door is always open.
